VALUABLE LIFE THINGS

MOM-LIFE

I have two super amazing kids (and a husband who is pretty great too).  It’s crazy how much tour-life and mom-life have in common.  I’m really the tour manager to this family.  I get to use all my favorite skills - planning, problem solving, budgeting, creating processes, mentoring, etc.  The biggest perk according to the kids are the pretty awesome travel adventures I take them on.  One can’t just spend 14 consecutive summers on tour buses and then sit at home.  We get out there.

FUN FACT: Prior to 2019, I had been to over a third of the minor league baseball parks in the country but had never been to a minor league game.

FUN FAIR RINGLEADER

I was co-chair of the Special Events committee for the Beye School PTO Board from 2014-2018 and played a large role in a number of special events at the school - all-school picnics, fundraising parties, and regular board meetings.  I revamped the largest fundraiser to better align with the community values and increased the average revenue per student.  During that time and still, I produce the annual all school carnival, the FUN FAIR.

FUN FACT: The carnival is pretty much the same as producing any large real festival, just scaled down.  And filled with 400 very excited kids hyped up on sugar.

FAVORITE NON-PROFITS

Hope for the Day:  I support this mental health awareness and suicide prevention non-profit in any way I can to help their message reach more people.  On the Warped Tour, TEI held free workshops hosted by them. Their passion for reducing stigma around mental health is so vital, and they are really spreading the message that It’s ok to not be ok.

Crew Nation:  Now in this era of pandemic, I’m aiming my $$ towards supporting those in our industry that are in need.  Live Nation is matching all donations, and a portion of my workshop proceeds will go straight there.

SCOPE at the University of Iowa

I got my start on this amazing concert committee as finance director my junior year and co-director my senior year.  We were tasked to book a 1,600 capacity ballroom (and other campus venues) as a real promoter - take reasonable risks in booking, turn a profit to reinvest in future shows, and do allllllll the advance and day of show work to make the show happen.  It was real-world experience that was priceless.

FUN FACT: Some of the first shows I settled were RUN-DMC, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and Ani DiFranco,
